According to the official press release from October Coast, Neil Johnson’s independent science-fiction movie Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighterstarring Malibu-based actress Tracey Birdsall has been officially recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This is big news for the indie sci-fi and horror community! It’s not very often that a horror movie gets recognition from the Academy, never mind an independent feature. Seeing this news pop up in my feed felt like a major win for indie filmmakers everywhere.
