Auroraparadox: If you review BD as a standalone game and not as the sequel to DD, is it worth purchasing? I think the majority of negative reaction when it first came out was from people who just wanted more of Divine Divinity. Beyond Divinity did a few things differently; some elements were better (summoning dolls were a good idea, the stat system allowed much more variety in character development) and some not (the weapon expertise skills were over specialized by damage type, but that is easily avoided by sticking to weapons that do conventional damage). Overall I liked Beyond Divinity almost as much as Divine Divinity.The voice acting doesn't make a great first impression, either, though the DK's voice gets better as the game progresses and most of the really bad NPCs are just in the starting section.
